Inspiration: DIY Bar Cart

DIY Red Bar Cart If you are a fan of inviting friends over for drinks at home, then you ABSOLUTELY need a bar cart. It looks amazing and it is a functional way to prepare cocktails in the living room. Trust me, you’ll impress some of your fellows. A decent bar cart can be purchased at about $100 and can go over $600 easily. The alternative is to build your own…for about $40. Yes, only! According to the Primer Magazine, simply go to Harbor Freight, the discount store for tools, and get yourself a two-shelf shop cart ($38). You won’t have to pay the full price as they always hand over discount coupons. Give them a call to know where to get them. For a more stylish and industrial-rustic look, add on top of each shelf a wood layer of you choice. That’s it. Take a look on Primer for the exact steps to follow.

Style Guide: David Karp, the Founder of Tumblr, Hates Big Bright Screens

David Karp

A lifestyle with limited access to digital or new-age technology. Is that possible for a tech leader? David Karp, founder of Tumblr, strictly followed this rule to design his beautiful big loft in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. “Big bright monitors drive me nuts”, admitted Karp during an interview with The New York Times Style Magazine. The design foundation of the apartment is everything that is old and aged from reclaimed oak to a metal carcass of a vintage 1969 motorcycle. Apparently the New York tech scene is more authentic and pays more attention to aesthetic then Silicone Valley. Thumps up for NYC!

Scroll down to see what David Karp’s apartment looks like. Read the entire article here to know more about his way of living.
